Vine named fasting growing app of 2013

Vine is the fastest-growing app in 2013, expanding its audience by an estimated  403 per cent, according to new research by Global Web Index (GWI).

Vine is followed by Flickr, which grew 146 per cent, while Instagram came third recording growth of 130 per cent in 2013.

However, Vine still has the smallest reach (with only 3 per cent of mobile users) of the top three but it’s explosive growth equates to estimated active global audience of nearly 24 million users. While, Instagram now has 109 million users with a 12 per cent reach.

Meanwhile, Google maps has the largest percentage of mobile users with a 54 per cent reach and an audience of 474 million. In second place was Facebook with a 45 per cent audience reach and an estimated 394 million users and Youtube came third with at 35 per cent reach.
