Vodafone calls Londoners via taxi wrapping parade

Hundreds of Vodafone-branded taxis have taken to London’s streets today as part of a new advertising campaign launched by the mobile service provider.

Vodafone’s new marketing initiative aims to highlight the company’s commitment to offer Londoners the best possible network, as well as to strengthen its presence and visibility in the capital. The fleet of branded taxis – covered in a Union Jack design and showing the strapline ‘London’s calling’ – will be also equipped with mobile phone chargers in order to allow all passengers to recharge their phones on the move. In addition, Vodafone customers will be able to pay for their journeys through their phones.

Guy Laurence, chief executive at Vodafone UK, said, “We have already made hundreds of improvements to increase coverage, capacity and reliability. Now with our fantastic fleet of Union Jack cabs and their on-board chargers which anyone can use, all Londoners will be able to see our continuing commitment to the capital.”

Charger installation on Vodafone-branded taxis will begin this week and the whole fleet of Vodafone wrapped taxis will be kitted out by August. As part of the campaign, Vodafone will further target London’s commuters by also launching a fleet of branded Heathrow Express trains.
