WorldPay, the global leader in payment processing has appointed Charlotte Speller, vice president of global marketing for the ecommerce division of the business.
Charlotte joins WorldPay from Sage Pay, where she was head of marketing and PR and publisher of ecommerce and payments magazine Moving Money.
Since becoming independent of the Royal Bank of Scotland in December 2010, WorldPay has refocused its efforts on building the brand and driving thought leadership to reinforce its position as the global leader in payment processing. Speller’s appointment is a key part of this strategy as the business plans and moves into 2012.
Phillip McGriskin, chief product officer at WorldPay commented, “WorldPay is preparing for an exciting 2012 where we will be putting in place campaigns that will transform the recognition of the WorldPay brand and drive our thought leadership agenda. Charlotte’s experience within the industry and reputation as an expert ecommerce marketer means she is perfectly placed to drive this change forward in 2012.”
Commenting on her appointment, Speller said, “I’m looking forward to playing a central role in developing innovative marketing campaigns at WorldPay. Ecommerce is a fast-paced industry so I’m excited to use my experience to help deliver WorldPay’s 2012 objectives and beyond that, to drive the business forward.”
In further appointment news, More Than – the direct financial services arm of RSA, has appointed Dominic Grounsell as its new marketing director. More Than offers a range of insurance products to consumers, as well as insurance for vans and business cars, commercial properties and contractor insurance for small businesses.
Grounsell joins from Capital One where he held the post of marketing director with responsibility for leading a cross-functional marketing department including marcomms, marketing strategy and analysis, proposition design, market research and campaign management. Prior to that, Grounsell was head of marketing – broadband acquisition at BT.
Commenting on his appointment, Grounsell said, “I’m delighted to be joining More Than. It’s a very exciting time to join such a great business with a strong brand and I’m looking forward to working with the team to take the brand to the next level.”
