Communication company Xerox has created a book in collaboration with writers and creative talents to show support for global literacy.
Titled Speaking of work: A story of love, suspense and paperclips, the book contains memoirs of past jobs and roles from leading writers.
The authors include Lee Child, Billy Collins, Roxane Gay, Joyce Carol Oates and Sloane Crosley.
Crosley said: “These stories take place on street corners and in classrooms, in parking lots and Genius Bars. And because this virtual office is occupied by writers, who are rarely in danger of under-thinking an issue, there’s plenty of nostalgia for longing for the days of warm photocopies and nubby carpeting.”
The book is part of Project: SET THE PAGE FREE – a campaign to encourage people from underserved communities to read via a free digital library.
Jeff Jacobson CEO at Xerox, said: “Project: SET THE PAGE FREE is a creative expression of the value Xerox has creative since the company was founded – which started with helping people work, communicate and collaborate, and today transcends working freely between physical and digital worlds.”
