Yahoo bids up to $800M for Hulu, but loses chief designer

Yahoo has put in a bid of between $600 million to $800 million for premium video-streaming service Hulu, with the aim to increase its video offerings.

Only last week, Yahoo acquired blogging platform Tumblr, bought gaming platform startup PlayerScale and revamped Flickr.

Meanwhile, the search engine lost its senior vice-president of user-experience design, Tim Parsey, who joined the company in 2011.

Parsey has previously held positions at Motorola and on Microsoft’s Xbox team.

Parsey told The New York Times:  “The type of role I feel I’m better at is when I’m able to lead a transition of design at a company, and that job is done at Yahoo.”
