With the aim of making video ads more accessible to SMBs, Google launched the YouTube Director app, which enables B2B marketers to create professional-quality video ads from their iPhones.
“No matter what kind of business you’re in, getting started with advertising on YouTube just became a whole lot easier,” said Max Goldman, product manager, YouTube Director.
Google said SMB owners with no editing experience have the ability to shoot a video ad in 20 minutes or less. The app, which is available immediately for iPhone in the U.S. and Canada, provides templates that guide even novice videographers through the process.
If you still don’t have faith in your ability to shoot your own video ad, YouTube can provide you with a professional filmmaker via its YouTube Director onsite service if you’re willing to put up $150. The program is only available in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington DC, but Google said it is coming to more cities soon.
The automated video tool, which is available globally, can also create a video ad automatically from existing assets like logos and app screenshots in the App Store or Google Play Store.
