YouTube has launched a slow motion enhancement tool to its built-in video editor, allowing users to create ‘slomo’ videos on the site.
The enhancement was developed in-house, using frame analysis to blend intermediate frames together.
Eron Steger, software engineer at YouTube, said in a blogpost: “Anyone who’s seen a slow motion video of a dog drinking water, rubber bands breaking a watermelon, or footballs in faces knows the age-old proverb: slomo makes everything better. What’s the best way to make slomo better? Let everyone make their own slomo video on YouTube.”
