Each year, the awards gives us a clear glimpse into the direction the industry is moving. And the future of B2B marketing? It’s still very much human. These insights are based on a comprehensive review of shortlisted campaigns from the 2025 B2B Marketing Awards. Evaluated by more than 100 independent, client-side judges through a rigorous two-stage process, the analysis goes beyond just the winners to reflect the full breadth of high-performing work—and in this blog, we share why emotion and storytelling are crucial in 2026, alongside two brilliant campaigns.
Despite rapid technological advancement, B2B marketing is becoming more human—not less. Insights drawn from the 2025 B2B Marketing Awards shortlist reveal a continued shift toward emotionally engaging, audience-first campaigns. By analyzing both winners and shortlisted entries, a clear pattern emerges: the most effective campaigns prioritize connection over complexity.
In complex, high-stakes purchase environments, trust and relatability are becoming key differentiators, pushing marketers to embrace storytelling, empathy and authenticity.
“Be More You: Deepening Pepper Money’s Emotional Connection with Brokers” for Pepper Money UK, by mark-making
Gold: Best Brand Initiative (Budget £100,000 and above)
Pepper Money is a specialist mortgage lender that helps borrowers struggling to get a ‘yes’ from high street banks. It does this exclusively through mortgage brokers. The mortgage sector itself is dominated by product-focused rational-messaging – leaving little to differentiate its brands, but Pepper’s promise of ‘Ambitions, fulfilled’ just couldn’t be delivered with logic alone. Therefore, *mark-making’s brief was to develop a brand campaign that deepened Pepper’s emotional connection with these brokers.
The insight? Brokers were facing unprecedented challenges, with ‘Trussonomics’, broader socio-economic uncertainty and political unrest making already-tough jobs unmanageable. The response? ‘Be More You’ – the mortgage market’s most broker-centric, emotionally rich brand campaign. ‘Be More You’ dramatizes Pepper’s role as the solution to these problems – defying category convention to focus on the person behind the professional; promising all they need to get back to their brilliant best. More like the real them.
“The Value of Active Minds” for Jupiter Asset Management, by Gravity Global
Shortlisted: Best Omnichannel Program and Best Use of Content
Jupiter Asset Management’s campaign, “The Value of Active Minds”, broke free from traditional financial industry advertising to deliver an emotive, aspirational, high-production TVC that redefined what it means to think actively in investing. Rather than relying on charts, data and monetary themes – or focusing on investing as the core subject matter – the campaign told a compelling human story: a young girl’s fascination with space, fuelling her curiosity and determination until she achieves her dream of becoming an astronaut.
This journey mirrors Jupiter’s investment philosophy – seeking opportunities beyond the obvious, embracing adaptability and thinking long-term. Running across Sky AdSmart, YouTube and financial media, it sparked engagement, improved brand perception and, most importantly, reasserted Jupiter’s place among top-tier asset managers. This was a brand statement – proving in a world of passive investing, active minds create real value. It significantly outperformed financial sector norms across all key metrics: prompted brand recall soared by 267.4% (from 8.6% to 31.6%), 99% above the category average; spontaneous brand recall rose increased by 38%; brand awareness increased by 8.2%, more than double the finance norm (+3.4%).
For more information, about this campaign, we also hosted a webinar with Gravity Global which you can check out here.
