Twitter founder launches Jelly app

Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter, has launched a new service looking to breathe new life into the process of finding the answers to questions online.

Jelly’ allows users to ask and answer questions, as well as share images, with their extended social network.

An introductory blog post on the Jelly website said: “Using Jelly is kinda like using a conventional search engine in that you ask it stuff and it returns answers. But, that’s where the similarities end.

“Albert Einstein famously said, “Information is not knowledge.” Knowledge is the practical application of information from real human experience.”

The app, which is available in both the App Store and on Google Play, looks impressive but commentators are questioning whether there is likely to be significant take up as the web is not lacking solutions to finding the answers to questions already.

Time will tell whether Jelly has what it takes to join the ranks of the social media’s must-have apps.
