Twitter introduces ‘login verification’

Twitter has introduced ‘login verification’, a two-factor authentication to more securely protect accounts.

This follows a number of recent attacks on high-profile Twitter accounts, including The Onion and the Associated Press. By implementing the feature B2B brands will make it more difficult for hackers to gain control of their Twitter accounts.

Jim O’Leary from Twitter’s product security team announced the new feature: “Every day, a growing number of people log in to Twitter. Usually these login attempts come from the genuine account owners, but we occasionally hear from people whose accounts have been compromised by email phishing schemes or a breach of password data elsewhere on the web.”
